As unpredictable as the UK's weather may be, no-one expected the weather we have had for the past 2 weeks. The heatwave-like weather has hit my wardrobe hard, my winter clothes weren't ready for this, and neither was I. Improvisation was needed.
Being a lover of shirts, I have an infinite supply therefore I just knew I had to wear one. Amongst the light colours and busy patterns the deep green colour stood out to me, determined to bring dark colours into Summer this year it was the perfect subject for the start of my rebellion. The crushed velvet fabric creates an intense, stunningly eye-catching shimmer in the sun while being oversized enough to emit a cool breeze onto the torso, perfect portable air conditioning.
While rummaging through my wardrobe in desperate hope to find a pair of shorts, I was disappointed to be greeted with piles of trousers. I thought all hope was lost until I made a smart decision to cut up a pair of vintage acid wash jeans, transforming them into a convenient pair of shorts. You're welcome, legs.
My feet didn't seem to approve of my eight hole Dr Martens, in fear of suffocation. Therefore I decided to fold over the tops, quickly and easily converting my winter boots into a cute pair of summer-friendly ankle boots.
Accessorising is key to me. I can't leave the house without some form of necklace on, today I wore a bird skull chain handmade by myself and my beloved pentagram necklace. Secondly, my hair and heat do not mix. With my hair not looking on top form today I masked it with a vintage pork pie bowler hat, again, dark coloured to support my shirt. To finish off my look I decided to protect my eyes from the sun (in style of course) with an oversized dark brown pair of sunglasses.
